I am originally from the UK and have been interested in art since I was a child but started taking lessons in watercolour painting in 1997 firstly in wildlife and then landscapes. I ventured into pastels briefly and then to oils just before relocating to Dubai in December 2004. I then started creating abstract work in oils and began selling these in September 2005 at the ARTE Soukh (www.arte.ae). Having made a sale on my first appearance at the soukh I was encouraged to continue.
Getting more and more busy in 2006 I started working in acrylics to meet the demand and now work in both acrylic and oils to create abstract works that harmonise with the interiors of the new buildings going up in Dubai today. My work generally uses bold colours and contrasts to add a touch of colour to a room. Since 2006 I have worked full time as a professional artist, selling more than 400 paintings worldwide.
In addition to working on my own designs for individuals, I have provided paintings for a number of hotels in Dubai, including the Address Dubai Mall, The Marriott Harbour Dubai and the Four Points Sheraton. I have also provided paintings for Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed al Nahyan’s private guest villa in Abu Dhabi.
In 2010 I decided to expand my artistic horizons and spend time in both the UK and Dubai in order to take my paintings to a wider audience. I now spend my time between the 2 places but am based mainly in the UK.
I sometimes have paintings for sale on eBay. You can see if I have any current listings here.
